(삼광NEWS)-7월 14일부터 8월 5일까지 3주간의 일정으로 미국 코네티컷에서 삼광 임직원 자녀들을 대상으로 하는 Summer Camps가 진행되고 있습니다.

<영어 일기를 쓰는 모습>

참가자들은 원어민 선생님과 1일 7시간의 영어 수업을 진행하며 하루 일과가 모두 끝나면 함께 영어 일기를 쓰고, 실생활에서 영어로 이야기를 하며 나날이 영어실력이 발전하는 모습을 보이고 있습니다.

지난 주말 이문화 체험활동 시간에는 뉴욕을 방문하였습니다. 자유의 여신상과 컬럼비아 대학, 타임스퀘어를 차례로 견학하였습니다.

 

 

<자유의 여신상을 방문한 모습>

자유의 여신상은 프랑스 19세기 말 미국 독립 100주년 기념으로 선물한 콘크리트 구조물로 허드슨 강 하류 뉴욕항의 리버티섬에 위치하고 있습니다. 내부에는 전시실과 엘리베이터가 있으며, 엘리베이터를 이용하여 봉화전망대에 올라갈 수 있습니다. 참가자들은 미국의 상징인 자유의 여신상을 방문하여 영화 속에 자주 등장하던 구조물을 직접 보고 느끼는 시간이 되었습니다.

 

<컬럼비아 대학을 방문한 모습>

다음은 뉴욕 맨해튼에 위치한 컬럼비아 대학을 방문하였습니다. 약 2만명의 학생이 재학 중이며,미국에서 제 1위의 신문방송대학원으로 명성을 떨치고 있습니다. 참가자들은 세계적인 명문 대학교를 견학하고 학업에 대한 동기부여를 하는 시간이 되었습니다.

 

 

<타임스퀘어를 방문한 모습>

마지막으로 타임스퀘어를 방문하여 다채로운 문화와 거리 예술 등을 직접 보며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 얼마 남지 않은 캠프 기간 동안 다양한 체험을 통해 영어로 생각을 전달하고, 표현하는 것에 흥미를 느끼고 캠프기간동안 친구들과 새로운 곳에서 지낸 3주간의 기억이 좋은 추억이 되기를 바랍니다.
