반려동물은 ‘사랑’ 입니다~



반려동물과 함께 생활하는 가구가 늘어 ‘반려동물 천만 시대’라고 합니다. 저희 가정의 반려동물도 빠질 수야 없죠~ 강아지와 고양이들이 함께 생활하고 있고, 거북이와 열대어도 한 집에서 가족으로 지내고 있습니다. 이렇게 많은 반려동물과 함께 생활하고 있지만, 저희 가족과 오랜 세월을 동고동락해온 강아지들의 이야기를 들려드리고자 합니다!




우리 가족의 첫 강아지는 25년 전쯤 요크셔테리어(샐리)를 키웠고, 그 후에 말티즈(토니), 시츄(돌콩, 소원)과 함께 지내다가 무지개다리를 건너 지금은 저희 산소에 이쁘게 자고 있답니다^^




현재 저희 집에 기쁨과 행복을 가져다주는 강아지 ‘밍키’와 딸인 ‘캔디’ 이렇게 2마리 키우고 있어요. 지금까지 유기견을 데리고 키웠다가 비숑 견종을 꼭 한번 키우고 싶다는 생각에 전국을 찾아 켄넬(전문견사)에게서 직접 데리고 온 첫 번째 강아지가 밍키예요.






밍키는 우리 집 행복조 1등으로 예쁜 캔디까지 출산하고 5마리의 꼬물이 육아까지 잘했던 엄마의 포스가 풍긴답니다~ 집에 들어가면 가족이든 손님이든 낯가림 없이 반갑게 인사하는 밍키지만, 발톱 손질과 미용은 다른 강아지들 보다 더 싫어한답니다.ㅠㅠ




꼬물이 5마리(빨,주,노,초,파)를 출산하고 성심을 다해 돌보다 보니 자기 몸을 관리하지 못해 자간 증(산후마비)에 걸려 병원에 가서 치료를 받았답니다. 그 후에도 자기 몸이 안 좋은데도 새끼들을 돌보는 것을 보면 안쓰러웠어요. 사람이든 강아지든 엄마의 힘은 대단합니다!



캔디는 우리 집 발랄한 귀염둥이로 어디든 데리고 다니면 작고 앙증맞아서 애견 카페나 산책할 때 사랑을 독차지 받아 동네에 팬이 수두룩 하다는 소문이 있답니다~^^ 걱정되는 것은 비숑 프리제가 5~10kg정도 까지 커야 하는데 캔디는 2.8kg 미니 비숑으로 골격이 작아 소형견의 흔한 슬개골이나 십자인대 질환이 걸릴 수 있습니다. 그래서 강아지 관절에 좋은 초록입홍합으로 만든 영양제를 꾸준히 먹이고 있어요. 아프지 않고 튼튼하게 자랐으면 좋겠습니다!


사람들은 인생 백 년 시대라고 부르는 것처럼 견생 시대로 20년까지 건강하게 함께 살기 위해서는 견주의 공부와 관심을 가지면 충분히 된다고 생각합니다.^^ 저 또한 반려동물과 건강하게 오래 살기 위해서 25년의 강아지 노하우와 지금도 반려동물 관리사 및 행동교정사 그리고 미용을 공부하고 있습니다. 대구에서 활발하게 활동하고 있는 애견 동호회에서 초보 견주분들에게 많은 도움을 드리고 있어요.



제가 좋아하는 글귀가 생각나네요. ‘사람이 죽으면 먼저 가 있던 반려동물이 마중 나온다.’라는 글인데, 지금도 항상 집에서 기다리고 있지만 기다림이 반려동물에게는 행복이고, 나중에 무지개다리를 넘어가더라도 주인을 기다리고 있다는 내용이 너무도 가슴에 와 닿는 표현이더라구요. 이처럼 반려동물을 끊임없이 사랑하고, 더욱 화목한 저희 가정이 될 수 있으면 좋겠습니다!
