“4차를 넘어 5차 산업혁명기술”


산업혁명은 과학 기술의 혁신과 발전이 산업에 접목되면서 사회, 경제적으로 엄청난 변화가 일어난 것을 산업혁명이라고 합니다. 최초의 산업혁명은 1700년대 말 영국에서 시작되었습니다. 기존의 농사 또는 수공업을 하던 시대에 증기 기관이 발명되면서 엄청난 생산량을 만들 수 있는 기계들이 만들어 지면서 이전의 생산방식이 바뀌어버린 시대입니다. 

 


철의 사용이 본격적으로 시작되었고, 석탄과 같은 화석 연료를 이용한 증기기관차, 증기선의 개발로 운송산업에서도 엄청난 발전을 이루었습니다.

 


2차 산업혁명은 전기에너지와 석유의 등장을 중심으로 한 전기의 시대라고 할 수 있습니다. 에디슨 전구의 등장과 함께 전기를 통해서 전력을 생산하고 부피가 큰 석탄을 대신하는 석유의 등장과 함께 제조업에서 큰 성장을 이룩하게 됩니다. 공장의 생산성이 폭발적으로 증가하면서 앞서 말한 단순 제조업뿐만 아니라 식료품, 음료, 운송, 운반 등 다양한 산업 분야의 발달로 경제가 성장해 나가는 시기입니다.


3차 산업혁명은 흔히 컴퓨터, 인터넷을 통한 정보화 혁명이라고 합니다. 3차 산업혁명은 미국의 실리콘 밸리 중심으로 한 IT산업 스타트업 회사들이 엄청난 발전을 이룩하게 되면서 이시기에 구글, 페이스북 같은 IT 기업들의 성장이 눈에 띄게 나타나게 됩니다.

현재 우리가 맞이한 4차 산업혁명은 초연결+초지능을 특징으로 하는 시대입니다. 4차 산업을 대표하는 키워드는 AI입니다. 인공지능이란 기계나 컴퓨터가 사람의 행동을 모방하는 기술입니다. 문제해결을 위해 인간과 같이 상황을 인지하고 추론하여 답을 얻어내는 지능을 가진 시스템입니다. AI 중 클라우딩 컴퓨터가 있습니다. 클라우딩 컴퓨터란 데이터를 저장 후 IT 관련 서비스를 한 번에 사용 할 수 있는 컴퓨터 환경을 일컫습니다.

 


4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞이한 지금 5G 산업이 일부 분야에서 사용되고 있지만, 이후에 산업 과제 경제 등 모든 분야에서 5G와 함께하는 스마트 시티를 통해 미래의 도시의 형태가 바뀔 것으로 예상됩니다. 스마트 시티란, 사물인터넷, 빅데이터, AI 등 최신 정보통신기술(ICT)을 적용한 스마트 플랫폼을 활용해 도시화에 따른 문제점들을 해결함으로써 시민의 생활 편의를 증진 시키는 도시를 의미합니다. 


5차 산업혁명의 예로는 홀로그래픽 디스플레이와 스마트팩토리가 있습니다. 홀로그래픽 디스플레이는 스크린 없는 디스플레이로, 허공을 입체 디스플레이 공간으로 활용하는 기술입니다. 그리고 스마트 팩토리는 똑똑한 공장이라는 뜻으로 일반 공장과는 차별되는 기술들을 갖고 있습니다. 디지털 자동화를 통해 생산성, 품질 그리고 고객만족도를 향상시키고 공장에 사물인터넷(IOT)를 설치하여 데이터를 실시간으로 수집하고 분석하며 데이터 기반의 공장 스스로 제조과정을 만들어 낼 수 있는 공장입니다.
