The 2024 monsoon season in Korea is about to start. 

The monsoon periods are as follows: Central Region: June 25 - July 26 Southern Region: June 23 - July 24 Jeju Island: June 19 - July 20

This year's monsoon is expected to bring heavier rains than usual, with the potential for torrential downpours influenced by typhoons. 

Specifically, the central region is expected to receive around 378mm, the southern region 341mm, and Jeju Island 348mm of rainfall.

In the Gyeongbuk region, rain is expected to start this Thursday and continue daily into next week.

With heavy rain forecasted, let's review the internal flood preparedness measures before the monsoon season arrives.

Firstly, to prevent flood damage, please ensure to review the flood preparedness manual on the groupware.

Additionally, clean the drainage ditches and remove any residues, and secure all windows in each factory building.

Remove hazardous materials from the factory perimeter, check the emergency pump status, and verify its operational condition.

Also, after engaging the brakes on the forklift, secure the wheels with chocks.

In case the monsoon turns into a typhoon, report any damages to the control room immediately and follow the control room's instructions.

The control room will continuously monitor the typhoon's status and develop recovery plans.

Additionally, during the monsoon season, please avoid approaching roads at risk of collapse, streams, riverbanks, and slopes prone to landslides and slipping hazards.
