On Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:30 AM, Samkwang Co. held its November monthly meeting. The agenda included the national ceremony with the singing of the national anthem, the recital of management policies and codes of conduct, an award for the Employee of the Month, the CEO’s monthly address, and a slogan chant: “Overcome the crisis and prepare for a new leap forward.” The Employee of the Month award was presented to Mr. Ko Seong-gyu, a professional in the Mass Production Injection Part of the Global MD Division, for his contributions to improving yield and mass productivity through mold modification. He received a 300,000 KRW prize and gave a presentation on his improvement achievements. In his monthly address, CEO Jinwoo Kim stated: "Now, only two months remain in 2024. Let’s all work with maximum effort this November and focus on maximizing our sales. On December 5, Samkwang will hold its 50th-anniversary celebration. On that day, we will also announce our 'Second Founding,' to continue advancing for another 50 years. We are at a point where we need to gather our resolve and move forward with a proactive and aggressive attitude, with the mindset of ‘We can do anything.’ Looking ahead, we need to focus on businesses that look 10, even 20 years into the future. Recently, we’ve been discussing the fields of AI, robotics, and the senior industry. While AI technology itself is developed by specialists, we can manufacture parts that go into AI systems. The same goes for robotics and the senior care industry. We must continuously research how our existing technologies can be applied in these new industries. Currently, every employee is submitting one proposal per month. These proposals will serve as our big data for the future. Always remember that these suggestions represent our future growth opportunities, and please feel free to propose even the smallest new ideas. In addition, we need to further reduce quality costs and losses. Let’s start by thinking about how to save even a single KRW. Last week, I advised executives to start by reviewing raw materials as part of our cost-reduction efforts. It’s crucial to devise concrete plans for minimizing losses and, if losses do occur, analyze them precisely to determine ‘how we can prevent them from happening again.’ We must continue to push forward. Progress will not come without enduring some hardship. Although the beginning may be challenging, as we resolve one issue at a time, it will become easier. I expect our executives to lead by example, actively engaging in improvement efforts. Finally, on the day of our 50th-anniversary celebration and the announcement of our Second Founding, we could have kept the event modest, but we are moving forward with it to renew our commitment and to face new challenges. Please attend with your families and enjoy the celebration together. Thank you all for your hard work throughout November." <Employee of the Month Award> CEO Jinwoo Kim, Pro Seonggyu Ko |
