[Friday, May 30, 2025] Samkwang Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center to secure new growth engines and collaborate on idea proposals through cooperation with technology-based startups.

The MOU signing ceremony was held in the executive meeting room at Samgwang Co., Ltd.'s headquarters, with 11 employees, including Jinwoo Kim, CEO of Samgwang Co., Ltd., Inguk Han, CEO of Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center, and three employees, Heejoon Lee, CEO of Big Wave, and Taehoon Kang, CEO of Geo Robot, in attendance.

Prior to the MOU signing, there were introductions of Samgwang, the Daegu Creative Economy Center, and ideas, as well as introductions of the startups (Big Wave and Geo Robot). Big Wave is an AI and big data specialist company that provides customized AI solutions, data analysis platforms, and generative AI solutions. Geo Robot is a company that provides robot systems for manufacturing site automation and efficiency improvement based on robotics technology.

Through the business agreement that followed, Samgwang and the Daegu Creative Economy Center plan to establish a sustainable cooperation system through ▲technology exchange and joint development through open innovation projects ▲creation of a win-win manufacturing base by combining Samgwang's manufacturing infrastructure and startup ideas ▲activation of policies and investments linked to Samgwang's management strategy ▲regular meetings, joint TF formation, consulting, and education.

Jinwoo Kim, CEO of Samkwang Co., Ltd., said, “We expect that this agreement will provide more opportunities to discover and collaborate with better startups. We will continue to actively collaborate to help promising startups grow. Samkwang will also continue to create opportunities for mutual growth and development with these startups.”

After the MOU signing, a tour of Samkwang's headquarters (injection molding and assembly) was conducted.

Through this agreement, Samgwang Co., Ltd. and the Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center are expected to strengthen the foundation of the technology startup ecosystem and realize sustainable innovation and mutual growth.
