[Smart Samkwang Life Episode 67] Introducing Chaeeun Heo, Professional from the Global New Business Team~ Author사내기자 Date2025.09.12 Hit82

Hello, I'm Chaeeun Heo from the Global New Business Team.

Back in school, I was the worst at English and hated it the most.

But one day, a classmate casually remarked, “You're bad at English, right?” That offhand comment sparked my competitive spirit. From then on, I threw myself into studying English relentlessly. (Once I get hooked on something, I go all out.)

Even as late as middle school, the mere mention of English made me cringe. Now, it often amazes me that English is what led me to my current job.

If my middle school self saw me now, I bet she'd be shocked. Hehe.

Currently, I'm undergoing a two-month OJT, learning about the company structure and the tasks handled by each department. After OJT ends, I'll return to the office, review emails, and start identifying my future responsibilities.

My senior occasionally asks, “Was there anything special today~?” After answering, I often regret it alone, thinking, “Ah...! I should have organized it better and explained it more clearly.” Hehe..

I have a strong desire to do well from the start, but I'm gradually realizing that trial and error is also an important process.

One day, my team leader shared this with me:

“How intensely and well you spend your first five years at your first job determines your entire career path. Gain as much experience as you can and learn diligently.” Those words truly warmed my heart.

There's a phrase I really love: 'It's rash to judge whether trial and error was truly an important step or just an unnecessary process. The trials and errors I'm experiencing now might not be errors at all, but crucial steps leading to unexpected, wonderful places." At the time, the path seemed winding and endless, but looking back, those paths were the best choices for me.

I'm also very curious where the paths I walk at Samkwang will take me.

My hobbies include photography and playing electric guitar.

While the convenience of a phone camera is nice, the feeling of capturing photos with a solid camera body is indescribable.

The catharsis of capturing exactly what I want to capture...! It's thrilling, haha. When I lived in the US for a while, wandering the streets of New York, I suddenly thought, “I want to capture these scenes with my camera.” I emptied my savings and bought a camera.

That camera has given me so many happy memories. I often make postcards from my photos and share them with people around me. If you're curious, message me and I'll send you one!

It's been over five years since I picked up my other hobby, the guitar.

The calluses on my left fingertips have become familiar now.

I think the real charm of the electric guitar is the sense of accomplishment when you nail a solo part you thought you'd never master. Even when I wonder how I'll manage, imagining myself playing it perfectly makes me unable to slack off on practice!

Even if I'm clumsy at first, I won't shy away from challenges and learning. I'll create new opportunities for myself.

Moving forward, as a member of the Global New Business Team, I will grow responsibly and establish myself as a colleague others want to work with! Thank you.

<Fun Q&A Answer>

I would choose to survive a week on an iceberg.

My body probably couldn't handle the constant sandstorms and the huge temperature swings between day and night...
