[Wednesday, October 1, 2025] Samkwang Co., Ltd. attended the ‘Physical AI National Transformation Strategy Launch Ceremony’ held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. 

Approximately 250 attendees from AI institutions, including the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National AI Strategy Committee, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, participated in the event. Samkwang was represented by CEO Jeong Sun-baek of the Global MD Division and Advisor Yang Chun-geum.

As a member company of the Korea Physical AI Association, Samkwang plans to contribute to the advancement of this national strategic project.

The strategy announced by the government at the launch ceremony aims to achieve global leadership in ‘Physical AI’. It is a national project where companies directly participate to lead the market, with 50% of the 30 leading projects centered on AI and integrated into manufacturing AX (Advanced Experience).

The major project areas outlined in the strategy span eight domains: AI-related robotics, automotive/mobility, semiconductors, home appliances/smart homes, drones, healthcare, defense, and data/platforms. Participating companies will gain opportunities to enter high-growth markets like smart manufacturing, mobility, healthcare, and defense by integrating AI technology into their products and services. 

Furthermore, the government plans to focus on connecting domestic suppliers and demand-side companies to ensure Korea's physical AI companies can secure and expand their share in the global physical AI market, expected to reach trillions of won in scale, with top-tier competitiveness.

Samkwang plans to actively utilize government R&D support following the launch of this national Physical AI transformation strategy. It will participate in leading projects and accelerate overseas market expansion by integrating AI into key business sectors like global manufacturing, mobility, and drones. This approach aims to create new growth opportunities through the practical application of new technologies and tangible results.

Moving forward, Samkwang will continue to align with national strategies, contribute to elevating the status of Korea's physical AI industry on the global stage, and open a new future where all employees can grow together.
